Christmas Lights Sale hits 900gns high

Taking the top price at the South Wales Texel Club’s Christmas Lights in-lamb ewe sale was the champion from the pre-sale show, a gimmer from the Quick family’s Loosebeare flock. This is a Whitehart Spot On daughter carrying twins to Loosebeare Show Stopper and was knocked down at 900gns to J Saxton, Cowbridge.

Second best at 850gns was the reserve champion from the pre-sale show from the Chave family’s Peacehay flock. This Blaencar Valiant daughter sold in-lamb to Clarks Wizard and went home with B G Greenow, Forest Coalpit.

Then at 700gns was another from the Quicks, this time a Hullhouse Special Brew daughter again in lamb to Show Stopper. She sold to J Saxton again, while a Whitehart Taylor Made daughter from the Quicks sold at 680gns, again carrying to Show Stopper.

Following that Selwyn and Tomos Evans sold a Kelso Picasso daughter carrying to Strathbogie Ya Patch at 550gns to B G Greenow, with their Mellor Vale bred ewe by Knap Vicious Sid sold at 500gns to D and D Morgan, Talybont.

A small consignment of aged ewes from James and Trudy Davies topped at 280gns for their first prize winner in the pre-sale show. This four year old ewe is sired by Abaty Rocco and is in lamb with twins to Stainton Wiseboy being knocked down to J W M Davies, Aberedw.
