Last week’s Dyfed Texel Club in-lamb sale saw trade hit a high of 1100gns for the first prize gimmer and reserve overall champion from Tomos Evans’ Welsh flock, with this gimmer carrying to Strathbogie Ya Patch and bought by Messrs Lloyd, All Pumps.
Second best at 1050gns was the pre-sale champion and first prize aged ewe, again from the Welsh flock, with this Llangwm ewe by Kelso Picasso selling to the evening’s judges Evan and Sian Davies and again in lamb to the Strathbogie sire.
Then at 820gns was a gimmer from Willy Davis’ Usk Vale consignment. Sired by Tamnamoney Tuborg Gold and in-lamb to the 35,000gns Strathbogie Ya Belter she was bought by Howell Harvard, Trecastell.
Another from the same home and the same way bred then made 800gns to Messrs Lloyd, All Pumps, again in lamb to Ya Belter. The second prize gimmer from the Davies family’s Teilo flock then made 620gns, with this one being a Deveronvale Discount daughter and in-lamb to Posey Hill Young Icon. She was the pick of Mark James for the Ripperston flock.
In the ewe lamb section Tomos Evans topped at 680gns for the first prize winner, a Cornmore Weedhopper daughter flushed out of a Cairness ewe. Buying was Shae Price, Brecon.
Tomos Evans also sold two embryo pregnancies for 450gns a piece. One was a Eryri Van Dango sired embryo out of his famous Greenwood ewe and the other a Weedhoper sired embryo out of a recently purchased Milcomb ewe. The buyers were Wayne Phillips and Willy Davis, respectively.
